Painting Exhibition by Vassilka Moneva

Vassilka Moneva was born on March 14, 1945, in Russe. Between 1963 and 1966, she studied at the Technical College of Arts and Crafts in Sofia. After a year as a puppet-maker at the Puppet Theater in Russe, in 1967, Vassilka Moneva devoted herself entirely to art. Her artistic formation took place among the Russe group of artists, which played a major role in the Bulgarian art scene in the ‘60s and ‘70s. In 1971, Vassilka Moneva became a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists. She has had solo exhibitions in Bulgaria, Germany, and Hungary and has taken part in representative shows of Bulgarian art in Paris, Beijing, Budapest, Berlin, Athens, Moscow, Riga, Bratislava, Bucharest, New York, Barcelona, Tokyo.

Vassilka Moneva has receivedseveral awards, including Russe Award (2005), Grand Prix at the Biennial of small formats??, Pleven (2004), Goden Age Award (2012).

Thera are paintings by Vassilka Moneva in the National Art Gallery, Sofia City Art Gallery, and a number of city galleries around the country, as well as many private collections.
