Momchil Georgiev

Momchil Georgiev was born in Plovdiv in 1974. In 1993, he graduated from the National High School of Stage and Screen Arts in his hometown, and in 1998, he received a Master’s degree in Metal at the National Academy of Art.Momchil Georgiev has had more than 15 solo exhibitions and numerous participations in group exhibitions and projects.

The artist has won several awards, including second place for painting at the National Competition for Young Artists (2005), а certificate from the National Youth Exhibition “Four countries” with curator Galina Lardeva (2000), an Honorary Diploma in painting at the Biennial of Small Art Forms, Pleven (2010), Award of the Union of Bulgarian Artists at the 9th Biennial of Small Art Forms – Pleven (2018), Award of the Union of Bulgarian Artists from National painting exhibition, Sliven (2021).

Artworks by Momchil Georgiev are in the collections of the National Art Gallery, St.st. Cyril and Methodius Foundation, M-Tel Collection of Contemporary art.
